Birmingham Live reports that West Brom will bid for James Tavernier this summer.
The Baggies are currently attempting to gain promotion to the Premier League, via the Championship play-offs.

It’s suggested that attempts to secure Tavernier’s signature last season were unsuccessful. For this season, they then turned to Everton’s Mason Holgate. Yet, with him set to return to his parent club after the play-offs, they are doubling their efforts to bring in the Rangers skipper this time around.
This is potentially a big blow for Steven Gerrard.
Tavernier has undoubtedly been one of his top performers this season. One of the first names on the team sheet, he’s made a whopping 57 appearances, so far.

In the league alone, he has 14 goals and 14 assists. Therefore, despite being a full-back, he’s had more direct goal involvements than any other player in the SPL.

As captain, he hasn’t always convinced the fans. However, he was instrumental in Sunday’s victory over Celtic, scoring the first from a free-kick and defending well throughout.

With the season he’s had, it’s no wonder he’s attracting interest from elsewhere.
Yet, it’s imperative that Rangers keep hold of him. The club may find it difficult to resist if West Brom or others come in with a big bid, but if he were to leave, he would be extremely difficult to replace.
