Turkish Champions Trabzonspor have been linked with a move for Rangers star Borna Barisic amid some conflicting reports regarding the player’s future.
There has been much talk surrounding Borna, 29, heading into this transfer window amid suggestions Rangers could look to move the somewhat inconsistent star on this summer.
The Athletic had claimed that left-back was one area the club were considering investment should someone come back in for Barisic in this window.
Rangers Review journalist Derek Clark would then quash several transfer reports surrounding potential left-back targets, suggesting the club are not actively looking to strengthen in the position.
But this could all change should the Trabzonspor interest in Borna Barisic materialise as reports claim they’ve been watching the Rangers star during his time playing with Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Football Scotland claim that the Turkish outfit are “very keen” on signing Barisic and despite the fact no official offer has been made they expect one will be soon.
Borna Barisic not the only left-back linked to Trabzonspor
Having won the Turkish Super Lig last season, Trabzonspor will also have a proper crack at the Champions League, entering the competition at the Playoff Round.
However, these reports linking Trabzonspor to Borna Barisic come amid claims the Turkish champions could move for AC Milan left-back Fode Ballo-Toure.
TV 100 journalist Mehmet Batuhan Agar claims that Trabzonspor are “very close” to completing a deal around £3m for the player.
This would then surely cast some doubts on any interest in Rangers star Borna Barisic but it does appear clear the club are in the market for a left-back.
Rangers star Borna Barisic was reportedly subject to a £2m bid from now relegated then-Premier League side Watford in January.
