Rangers and Celtic were both linked with Motherwell star Tawanda Maswanhise in the January transfer window.
However, neither side ended up signing the Zimbabwe international, and he remained at Fir Park.
Rangers instead signed Ryan Naderi from Hansa Rostock a few months before they initially planned to.

Motherwell may let Tawanda Maswanhise leave in the summer
According to the Daily Record journalist Andy Newport, Motherwell were reluctant to let Maswanhise leave in the January transfer window.
They did receive bids for the 23-year-old in the winter, but nothing materialised as the Fir Park outfit were unwilling to change their stance on him.
However, things could be different in the summer, and that may open the door for Rangers and Celtic.

The two Glasgow sides did not want to be seen overpaying for the striker as they had previously, and did not advance in talks over the transfer.
In the summer, things could be different, especially if one of the teams go about their business quickly and sign him before the window opens.
Newport told Hotline Live: “I spoke to people at Motherwell about that throughout the window. I think why there weren’t bids materialising because it was made clear from Fir Park that they didn’t want to let him go.
“Therefore, to get him out of there, you’re paying silly money. And probably at that point, you’re overspending, and that’s what Rangers and Celtic have been accused of doing at times.
“The summer window is a completely different beast in that sense. There isn’t the same pressure level, especially if you can get your work done early.
“I still think that could be something that could be revisited come the summer.”

Will Rangers table a bid for Maswanhise in the coming months?
Maswanhise has been a consistent performer in the SPFL, so it should come as no surprise that two of the best teams in the division are linked with him.
Rangers may well be in the market for another striker in the summer if they are not impressed with Youssef Chermiti or Bojan Miovski’s performances in the coming months.
They did loan out Danilo, but are unlikely to welcome him back into the first-team fold and he is most likely to depart on a permanent basis in the summer.
If Naderi pans out as they hope, they may not need to spend big money on a striker, but having two quality forwards will give Danny Rohl much-needed depth in a key position.
There is a high possibility that the Gers revisit this deal come April or May and it remains to be seen if they go as far as submitting a bid for him.
