Rangers are closing in on signing Feyenoord striker Danilo with an agreement seeming on the verge of being struck.

The Gers have made Danilo their top target as Michael Beale seeks another attacking addition.

Even after landing Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers, Rangers have still wanted Danilo – and even more so since selling Antonio Colak to Parma.

This rumour has been rumbling for weeks now but it looks like Rangers are closing in.

Algemeen Dagblad in the Netherlands report that Rangers are now ‘close’ to striking an agreement with Feyenoord for Danilo.

It’s stated that Rangers have made a ‘fourth and final attempt’ to sign Danilo and their last move is set to trigger a deal.

The report claims that Danilo is ‘very close’ to making the move to Ibrox having already made it clear that he wants to go.

Danilo, 24, hit 14 goals in all competitions last season having joined from bitter rivals Ajax on a freer transfer.

Feyenoord will now turn a quick profit on Danilo and seemingly allow him to make the move to Glasgow.

Danilo benched by Feyenoord amid Rangers transfer rumours

Feyenoord faced Hoffenheim in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

Danilo was left on the bench to start with and manager Arne Slot has confirmed to RTV Rijnmond reporter Dennis van Eersel that the decision was made because of the rumours.

The Brazilian did though come off the bench and scored a beautiful curling strike to make it 4-2.

Slot felt that Danilo showed good signs in the second half even as Feyenoord lost 4-2.

Slot seemingly believed that Danilo wasn’t in the right frame of mind to start the game due to the Rangers rumours swirling over the weekend.

It now seems that Danilo will finally head to Rangers and end the rumours once and for all, allowing Slot to move on and bring in another forward.
