A former Rangers striker who left Ibrox completely for free is now being compared to Erling Haaland as his transfer value skyrockets to a massive £7.7million.
Boyhood Rangers fan Robbie Ure made the difficult decision to turn down a contract extension in Govan back in the summer of 2023, walking away as a free agent to kickstart his senior career abroad.
After developing through Anderlecht’s setup, the 22-year-old forward secured a permanent move to Swedish side IK Sirius, and his career has entered an astonishing stratospheric phase.
Ure has taken the Allsvenskan completely by storm, prompting prominent Swedish football experts to liken his raw power to Manchester City and Norway’s world-class marksman.

Robbie Ure’s ‘Erling Haaland’ transformation
Speaking on FotbollDirekt‘s program Allsvenskan Direkt, respected journalist Fredrik de Ron showered the former Ibrox starlet with immense praise, warning defenders that the physical striker has developed into a complete nightmare to mark.
He said, “He reminds me a bit of Erling Haaland against Brazil when he comes like a locomotive, and you just have to get out of the way.
“He is phenomenally good. He is the complete package and will be able to play at a high level in the future.”

Frightening £7.7m valuation realised amid Rangers regret
Ure’s blistering form has fired IK Sirius an impressive nine points clear at the top of the Swedish top flight, with the Scot hammering home 12 goals in just 12 matches this season, along with two assists.
That form has already seen Sirius reject a concrete £3.4m offer from Italian Serie A side Lecce, which included a highly lucrative 30 per cent sell-on clause, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
However, de Ron insists that interested European parties must dramatically step up their financial packages if they want to tear the “locomotive” forward away from Sweden.
What is your reaction to the new third kit?
It's fair to say a lot of Rangers fans have hated it…
The journalist said, “He is far too good for the Allsvenskan. He is a frighteningly good forward.
“Sirius will be able to get north of SEK 100million (approx. £7.7m) for him, I am completely convinced of that.”
He is also wanted by Ligue 1 trio Lyon, Strasbourg and Nice.
Ure has openly admitted that he retains a massive soft spot for Rangers and dreams of returning to win major trophies at Ibrox one day.
Yet, with his market valuation rapidly climbing towards the £8m mark on the back of these devastating, Haaland-style displays, and the player currently keen to test himself in a better league, an immediate reunion is increasingly unlikely.
