Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou has sent a scout to watch Rangers – with Aberdeen defender Slobodan Rubezic catching the Premier League club’s eye.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, writing in the Scottish Sun, the former Celtic manager is compiling a dossier of the best talents north of the border.
This comes after a blistering start to Ange Postecoglou’s time at Spurs, with the North London outfit top of the Premier League and unbeaten this season.
The report claims that the Spurs boss sent scout Ian Broomfield to take in a series of matches in Scotland, with Rangers, Old Firm rivals Celtic, northeast rivals Aberdeen and Edinburgh outfit Hearts on the radar.
Whilst Japanese striker Kyogo Furuhashi remains the subject of Spurs’ interest, Broomfield has also been impressive by Aberdeen defender Slobodan Rubezic.
Aberdeen signed the 23-year-old Montenegrin defender from Serbian side Novi Pazar in the summer and Slobodan Rubezic has been so impressive that now Spurs are watching him.
With Rangers set to play Aberdeen in the League Cup Final, Rangers fans will have one eye on the defender heading into the game with Macedonian teammate Bojan Miovski also the subject of much discussion surrounding Rangers.
Spurs scout takes in Rangers clash
Whilst the report doesn’t name any Rangers player as specifically catching the eye of the visitint Spurs scout, the club’s upturn in form is sure to have teams down south watching on.
Since the appointment of Philippe Clement, Rangers have experienced a notable resurgence with several of the club’s top stars finding their feet and form.
Amongst them includes man of the moment and Brazilian striker Danilo, who continues to be the subject of superlatives from within Ibrox and in the press.
As Rangers look to haul back the points gap between themselves and Old Firm rivals Celtic, there are hopes the striker can finally be the Ibrox club’s answer to one Ange Postecoglou signing at Parkhead.
