It’s no secret Rangers are trying to bolster their midfield but one Scottish Premiership option touted by fans in Motherwell’s Allan Campbell has made a decision on his future.

The Steelmen star has been routinely recommended by plenty within the Ibrox support but there has never been any official suggestion the Gers would consider a deal.

With the Scotland youth international’s contract running down at Fir Park, the likes of Hibs and Aberdeen were the names being mentioned north of the border [Daily Record].

But ahead of the new campaign, Campbell won’t be remaining in Scotland as the talented player signs a contract with English Championship side Luton Town ahead of the new campaign.

Campbell, 22, is widely regarded as one of the best young Scottish talents around and will look to make an impression down south with Nathan Jones’ talented side.

The move also comes as a surprise after Jones had previously claimed that talk of Luton Town interest in Campbell was wide of the mark.

“No, not at all [no truth in the reports],” said Jones [Daily Record].

“It’s wrong of me to speak of anyone else’s players and the boy is at Motherwell, so I know Graham (Alexander, Well manager) very well, but no, no interest in that.

“People will talk, people will try to generate interest.

“A lot of people have used our name because we are the type of club that likes to get people, so to generate interest, I would imagine someone has put that in the paper.”

Rangers continue to be linked with a host of midfielders as the club looks to bolster their squad ahead of the Champions League qualification campaign.

Campbell may not be of sufficient quality to turn the heads of the powerbrokers at Ibrox, but one player reportedly interesting the Gers has been tailed by the likes of Chelsea and Spurs.
