There are now six different clubs in the race to sign Glen Kamara from Rangers, and it is expected that the player will depart Ibrox this summer.

The midfielder made 35 appearances last season, but now looks set to depart in search of a new challenge, and there is no shortage of interest in the 27-year-old.

A report from Rangers Review has revealed that six clubs are now interested in signing Kamara this summer, who has been valued at £5m.

Olympique Lyonnais, Stade De Reims, Galatasaray, Trabzonspor, Borussia Monchengladbach and FC Copenhagen are the six interested sides, and given the stature of some of the teams here, Rangers may back themselves to land a good fee for Kamara.

Beale is moving on quickly

Rangers have been proactive in the transfer market this summer, and the arrival of Kieran Dowell, as well as the expected arrival of Jose Cifuentes, should help Michael Beale replace Kamara quickly.

Nevertheless, Kamara has been a good servant for Rangers, making 193 appearances, and whilst he has struggled for his best form in the last couple of seasons, he was a magnificent midfielder at his best.

Steven Gerrard once described him as “excellent,” and he was a cornerstone in the side which won the title in 2021 and appeared in every knockout round as Rangers reached the Europa League final.

A sale now will be the best move for all parties, with Rangers set to earn a fairly significant fee for the player, who has two years remaining on his deal, whilst Kamara has his pick of strong sides competing in European competition.

Rangers bought Kamara for around £50k in 2019, and therefore making such a substantial profit on him is excellent business from the club, and they will hope the new recruits can replace him well.
