The Sun reports that Sheffield United are set to bid £15 million in an attempt to sign Rangers linked Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster.
The Gers were linked with a swoop for the 20-year-old back in June [Scottish Sun], following his impressive loan spell at Swansea City.
The England U21 international netted 11 times in 22 Championship appearances for the Swans and it was suggested that Steven Gerrard would attempt to bring him to Ibrox on another loan.
The Gers have taken several players from Anfield on temporary deals in recent seasons including Ryan Kent, Ovie Ejaria and Sheyi Ojo and Gerrard knows Brewster well, having coached him at the Liverpool Academy.
However, no move has yet materialised and multiple Premier League clubs are said to be circling.
The Express reported earlier this week that Sheffield United and Brighton were competing to land the forward on loan.
Yet, a Sun article shared on Twitter by journalist Alan Nixon on Thursday morning claims that the Blades saw an initial loan bid rejected and are now attempting to buy Brewster for a fee of £15m.

It would be no surprise if Rangers were genuinely interested in Brewster, given his ability and links with Gerrard.
However, given that he averaged a goal every other game in the highly competitive English second-tier last season and has already netted three times under Jurgen Klopp in pre-season, it looks as though he’s already a level above the players Liverpool have previously allowed to head to Ibrox.
It seems unlikely that the Merseyside club would be willing to sell such a talented young player, but if he does head elsewhere this summer, either way, it’ll surely be to another Premier League club.
A loan move to a side like Sheffield United or Brighton would constitute progression and would offer him the chance to build up relevant experience, while if the bidding is starting at £15m, the likes of Rangers would quickly find themselves priced out of any potential permanent transfer.
