Scott Brown may not be leaving Celtic after all.
According to a report in the Scottish Sun, the Celtic captain has turned down an initial offer from A-League newbies Western Melbourne.
Brown is reportedly subject to interest in both Australia and the United States, with Sporting Kansas City and Minnesota United also keen on securing his signature.

However, should he opt to end a 12-year stay at Celtic, Melbourne is said to be his preferred destination.
Yet, there is also an option of a one-year contract extension at Parkhead. He could then take up a coaching role at the end of that deal.
The speculation comes after Brown received criticism for his performance in last Saturday’s Old Firm.

He was totally overrun in midfield by the likes of Ross McCrorie and Scott Arfield.
Then, to top it all off, Ryan Jack’s winning goal both nutmegged and deflected off Brown. Ultimately, his touch lead to Celtic’s first Old Firm defeat in years.

He hasn’t decided to jump ship just yet, though.
Yet, turning down an initial offer doesn’t guarantee he intends to stay put. Perhaps he’s just trying to ramp up his wages before accepting a move Down Under.
