Robby McCrorie was unfortunate to lose his starting place after impressing with two clean sheets last season when Jon McLaughlin and Allan McGregor replaced him for Rangers, however, he now looks set to get his chance.
Michael Beale, speaking after the Scotland youth international secured his fifth game without conceding, confirmed that the 25-year old will be given a chance to fight for the number one jersey next season.

Robby McCrorie won’t have it his own way though with Michael Beale’s comments released on Rangers YouTube channel:
“I’ve seen enough in the six games he’s played for Rangers, he’s kept five clean sheets and done himself the world of good.
“I’ve always thought he was a goalie destined to do good things.
“He will have more competition next year with a new face in the building, then it’s up to them to fight it out.
“I’m pleased with Robby and his family, he’s been patient.”
What McCrorie has done is prove that he can either be Rangers number one or, at least, be a backup that can be trusted when called upon.
All of his games have been against top six sides and not once has he looked out of place.
Robby McCrorie form sees Jon McLaughlin facing Rangers exit
The interesting thing about Beale’s comments on Robby McCrorie, is that he never refers to Jon McLaughlin, who still has another year of his Rangers contract to run.
The Gers gaffer refers to a new face coming in to compete with McCrorie but nothing about McLaughlin also being in the mix.
Given his age and experience, it’s unlikely that the Scotland international will want to stick around to play third choice when he started this campaign as number one under Giovanni van Bronckhorst.
Beale gave us a timeline of around 10 days for a new announcement on a keeper, Kieran Wright has signed a new deal but I doubt that it is him.
Whoever comes in, with Jack Butland the favourite, won’t have it easy, with McCrorie justified in having a claim to replace hall of fame legend McGregor.
