Rangers have rejected a late bid from Galatasaray for left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.

The Turkish giants have been strongly linked with a move for the Turkish international all winter long with reports of a rejected bid earlier in the window.

Now, according to the Herald, Rangers have rejected another bid from Galatasaray for Ridvan Yilmaz meaning the 22-year-old is set to stay at Ibrox.

The report claims that neither offer from Galatasaray met Philippe Clement’s £4m valuation of the defender, who has been impressing at Ibrox.

Rangers reject Ridvan Yilmaz bid

Rangers fans will breathe a sigh of relief surrounding Ridvan Yilmaz amid news that the Ibrox side’s pursuit of Jefte collapsed in recent days.

The Gers had eyed the Fluminense left-back, 20, as a potential alternative to Ridvan Yilmaz but failed to strike a deal with loan club APOEL Nicosia.

That means that Rangers would’ve been scrambling for a left-back on deadline day had Galatasaray stumped up to sign Ridvan Yilmaz.

But as things have transpired the left-back will be staying in Glasgow as the Gers look to mount a serious title challenge.

Ibrox transfer window set to close

Rangers are now reflecting on what’s been a busy window at Ibrox as the club looks to build on the League Cup win earlier in the season.

In have come Fabio Silva (Wolves), Mohamed Diomande (FC Nordsjælland), and Oscar Cortes (RC Lens) and out has gone Sam Lammers (Utrecht).

We certainly look to be in a stronger place than when we entered the window and now the focus will be returning straight back to the football until the end of the campaign.

With Rangers rejecting a fresh bid from Galatasaray for Ridvan Yilmaz, the young Turk will very much hope to be central to that with the Gers competing on three more fronts this season.
