Rangers would need ‘crazy money’ to sign Heart of Midlothian striker Lawrence Shankland amid strange links with Luzern.
The Gers are seeking more attacking options this summer to bolster Michael Beale’s forward line.
Sam Lammers is on board but the Dutchman has struggled for goals in recent years, meaning another option may be needed.
Hearts hitman Shankland is one name mentioned, with TEAMtalk reporting earlier in June that Rangers were considering a bid.
The 27-year-old joined Hearts from Beerschot last summer and responded by smashing 28 goals in all competitions.
Born and bred in Glasgow, Shankland confirmed to the Glasgow Evening Times in 2018 that he supported Rangers as a boy.
A move to Ibrox would surely be a dream for Shankland and has been rumoured on numerous occasions over the years.
Shankland may be the kind of goalscorer Beale wants, but a summer departure from Tynecastle doesn’t seem likely.

There have been some strange rumours emerging about Shankland in recent days.
Luzerner Zeitung reported that Swiss side Luzern were interested in signing Shankland this summer.
Luzern finished fourth in Switzerland’s top flight this past season and are now into the Europa Conference League qualifiers, meaning they may push the boat out a little for signings.
The idea of them managing to sign Shankland is bizarre though and surely won’t be happening.
The Edinburgh Evening News have added that Hearts would not sell Shankland unless ‘crazy money’ is on the table.
Hearts appear to be under little pressure to sell and we can’t really see Rangers offering the kind of ‘crazy’ money being spoken about this summer.
In truth, it’s hard to see Shankland ever fulfilling his Rangers dreams with a move to Ibrox and Beale seems likely to look elsewhere for a striker this summer.
