Rangers are closing in on signing LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes amid claims he completed medical tests on Tuesday night.

The Gers appear to be nearing a rather exciting double signing to bolster Michael Beale’s squad.

Feyenoord striker Danilo is on his way to Glasgow with Algemeen Dagblad reporting that a five-year deal is in place.

That’s one long-running Rangers transfer saga coming to an end and another seems to be set for completion.

The Athletic reported on Tuesday morning that Rangers were finalising a deal to finally bring Cifuentes to Ibrox.

Rangers have been chasing both Cifuentes and Danilo for a while now and it looks like they will be joining forces in Glasgow very soon.

Jose Cifuentes has allegedly undergone Rangers medical

Ecuadorian reporter Andres Ponce claims that Rangers completed a medical for Cifuentes last night.

Ponce states that Rangers are now going through the visa process in order to get Cifuentes signed up.

There should be no issues on that front and Ponce claims a full agreement is in place between Rangers and LAFC.

Ponce believes that Cifuentes being announced as a Rangers player is now just hours away.

The 24-year-old is out of contract at LAFC towards the end of 2023 but Rangers will be paying to get him on board right now.

An all-action midfielder who has been compared to Paul Pogba, Cifuentes represents a major signing for Rangers and a real impact player in midfield.

This looks to be a superb signing for Rangers and the prospect of him joining Nicolas Raskin in the engine room is an enticing one.

Cifuentes and Danilo add extra star quality to the Rangers side and Michael Beale must be delighted to get two of his top targets over the line.
