As the Rangers striker transfer reports go haywire, current Ibrox poacher Kemar Roofe has just dropped a major hint on Instagram that he’ll be free of injury come pre-season.
The 30-year-old Jamaican international took to social media to thank a Qatari-based rehabilitation centre for their help in getting the ex-Leeds United forward back to full fitness.
Having undergone a procedure to fix a troublesome hip problem, the Instagram message to Aspetar suggests Kemar Roofe may well be fit for pre-season.
If Rangers can get the striker – who cost Rangers a reported £4.5m in 2020 – fit and firing it will represent a monumental boost to the club’s forward line at a time of great change in that department.
Several forward players have been linked with a move to Rangers this summer with the club already agreeing a deal for Dutch striker Sam Lammers from Serie A side Atalanta.
There have been extensive links to Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers, whilst the chatter around Bordeaux striker Josh Maja continues in the press.
But in Kemar Roofe, Rangers have a striker of potent quality who, when fit, has been a solid option for the club and the Instagram message is full of promise for supporters.

Kemar Roofe gives Rangers fans Instagram boost
The fact the striker missed the overwhelming majority of last season is indicative of the woeful squad management which plagued the campaign and whilst Rangers quite clearly can’t rely on Kemar Roofe’s fitness, having the player as a consistent option bolsters the frontline.
Having netted 36 goals in 78 Rangers games, Roofe boasts an impressive return of one goal around every 115 minutes but it’s that lack of time on the park which has held his time in Glasgow back.
The biggest compliment you can pay Kemar Roofe is that his recent absences have been grave for Rangers in their hunt for glory and silverware.
Whilst fan protests will surely follow if contingency plans aren’t in place in the event of yet another injury, and whilst we won’t get carried away based on an Instagram post, what a boost it would be to have a consistently fit Kemar Roofe at Rangers next season.
