Rangers could now miss out on Malik Tillman with Brentford and Brighton both interested in the Bayern Munich talent.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Bayern think they can now get more than £5million for Tillman.

Rangers have an option to buy Tillman for around £5million this summer following a loan spell at Ibrox.

Rangers have yet to activate that option though and there are fears that Tillman will end up elsewhere.

Tillman claimed himself that the option was only valid until ‘the beginning or June or something’, with no specific date stated.

Rangers would still have to strike an agreement on personal terms with Tillman, meaning there are a few hurdles to clear.

It’s now stated that Bayern think they can get even more than £5million if Rangers don’t activate their option.

Brighton and Hove Albion are keen whilst Brentford have also joined the race, meaning Rangers may now have to deal with Tillman’s head being turned.

Rangers would regret missing out on Malik Tillman

We know money is tight at Ibrox but seeing Tillman go elsewhere would be difficult to watch.

Tillman had his doubters at Rangers last season but he still managed 12 goals and five assists in 43 games.

The American is just 21 and has enormous potential – exactly the kind of talent Rangers need with future profit in mind.

Tillman showed his attacking versatility by playing as a number 10 and as a winger, whilst he can even play as a striker too.

Yes, £5million is a hefty price for Rangers to pay right now but similar figures have been mentioned for Cyriel Dessers.

Cremonese striker Dessers is already 28 and whilst proven goalscorers are valuable, it would be hard for Rangers to make their money back on him.

Tillman should be a priority for us if he still wants to join, but interest from Brighton and Brentford could now pose a real issue.
