Rangers could see their hopes of signing Benie Traore ended with Sheffield United hoping to secure the striker.
Rangers had to focus on bringing attacking additions to Ibrox this summer and their plans are starting to come to fruition.
The Gers have already snapped up Sam Lammers from Atalanta, with the Dutchman looking to get his career back on track.
Rangers are also closing in on Cremonese striker Cyriel Dessers with Fabrizio Romano claiming that a fee has been agreed.
There may yet be scope for one more attacking addition though with Heart and Hand claiming that Rangers would like to sign Feyenoord attacker Danilo even with Dessers coming in.
That means that even if Danilo doesn’t arrive, maybe Rangers will pivot to another forward such as BK Hacken star Benie Traore.
The Sun’s Alan Nixon reported last weekend that Rangers have offered £2.8million to sign Ivorian ace Traore.
Hacken allegedly want around £5million, so Rangers have some work to do – and could now see Sheffield United swoop in.
Sheffield United want Benie Traore as part of triple swoop
The Sun claim that Sheffield United are chasing a triple swoop with Paul Heckingbottom desperate to bolster his squad.
Manchester City talent James McAtee is wanted back on loan at Bramall Lane after impressing there last season.
Sheffield United also want to land Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien as well as Hacken forward Traore.

Traore, 20, has smashed 12 goals in his last 13 games for Hacken and is taking Swedish football by storm right now.
The £5million fee is again mentioned with hope that United can strike a deal by paying £1million-a-year.
That seems like the kind of deal Rangers should be able to commit to, but whether Hacken actually accept it is unclear.
If Rangers want to sign Traore, they may need to move quickly – and potentially abandon the Danilo pursuit in the process.
