Report: Rangers weigh up deal for teenage trialist Miracle Oguduba

Rangers are weighing up a deal to sign youngster Miracle Oguduba after recently taking him on trial with the B team.

All Nigeria Soccer exclusively report that the Gers have brought Oguduba in for training ahead of a potential contract offer.

Oguduba was given a chance to shine in a behind-closed-doors friendly against St Johnstone and impressed.

Rangers then faced the Chelsea development squad and defensive midfielder Oguduba came off the bench to turn in another strong display.

Those performances mean Rangers are now weighing up signing 18-year-old Oguduba permanently.

Miracle Oguduba could reunite with Thompson Ishaka

Rangers only recently signed another Nigerian talent in winger Thompson Ishaka.

Ishaka was attracting real interest from a number of English clubs but Rangers managed to win the race.

It turns out that Ishaka and new trialist Oguduba know each other very well.

All Nigeria Soccer report that Ishaka and Oguduba were both with the Riverlane Football Academy over in Enugu in Nigeria.

The pair were then at Brooke House College together, which is based just outside of Leicester.

Complete Sports noted last year that Ishaka and Oguduba combined to devastating effect as Brooke House beat London Nautical College in the English Schools Football Association U18 Finals.

Rangers could reunite the pair again with Oguduba no doubt hoping to join Ishaka in Glasgow.

Rangers youth recruitment continues to be a key focus

We’re all expecting to see Rangers make some first-team signings this summer.

Michael Beale needs to be backed with players who can make an immediate impact, just like Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin.

Yet Rangers are also placing a keen focus on signing young players like Ishaka and now potentially Oguduba.

There is real excitement over both Zak Lovelace and Bailey Rice, who have arrived at Rangers over the last year.

Add in the likes of Alex Kpakpe, Christian Mulindwa, Souleyman Mandey and Lancelot Pollard and Rangers are really looking to the future.

Oguduba could be next in this approach as Rangers look to find some gems for the future.
