Rangers are showing an interest in signing Denis Huseinbasic from Koln this summer as Michael Beale considers new signings.

That is according to German newspaper Bild, who claim that Huseinbasic is a man in demand this summer – and not just from clubs.

It’s suggested that a number of agencies are trying to tempt Huseinbasic into switching his representation.

Huseinbasic is represented by a ‘close family friend’ but big agencies are now vying for his future.

Offers from England, Scotland and France are allegedly coming in for Huseinbasic – and Rangers have been making moves.

It’s stated that Rangers and bitter rivals Celtic are both trying to sign Huseinbasic this summer.

The 21-year-old has seemingly put himself on the Rangers radar with his Europa Conference League displays this season.

Koln crashed out in the group stage but Huseinbasic showed promise across three starts and two substitute appearances.

Who is Rangers target Denis Huseinbasic?

Huseinbasic was born in Germany but is of Bosnian heritage and could have turned out for Bosnia on the international stage.

Huseinbasic has committed to Germany though and has already bagged two goals in three Under-21 appearances.

The midfielder was in the ranks of clubs like Darmstadt and Eintracht Frankfurt before heading to Kickers Offenbach as a 17-year-old.

That may have only been the fourth tier of German football but nine goals in 58 games for Kickers Offenbach resulted in real interest.

Koln won the race, paying just €50,000 (£45,000) to pluck him from the fourth division and catapult him into the Bundesliga.

This season has been a little frustrating; Huseinbasic has started just seven Bundesliga games this season whilst also making 11 substitute appearances, bagging three goals.

Primarily an attacking midfielder, Huseinbasic has also played a little deeper and even out wide.

Koln certainly want to keep Huseinbasic but the potential for first-team action elsewhere is very appealing.

Rangers may well see Huseinbasic as a crucial player moving forward but can expect to pay a huge mark-up on the £45,000 he cost less than a year ago.
