The Daily Record reports that Leighton Baines will not be joining Rangers this summer.
The 34-year-old Everton left-back was the subject of transfer speculation on social media this week.
There were suggestions that not only had talks been opened, but that he was on the verge of a pre-contract switch to Ibrox.

Baines is an Everton stalwart, having joined the club from Wigan Athletic in 2007.
He’s racked up over 300 Premier League appearances since then, and earned himself an impressive 30 England caps.
The arrival of Lucas Digne has seen him slip down the pecking order at Goodison, though. His contract is also set to expire this summer.

However, the Record reports there is no substance to the Rangers claims. There’s no suggestion that he will sign an extension at Goodison, though, with his future described as uncertain.
It’s likely the Gers will be looking to add a left-back during this window.
Borna Barisic was brought in from NK Osijek last summer, but in general, failed to impress.

Jon Flanagan did well in that slot during the post-split fixtures, but his lack of a natural left foot will always limit his effectiveness in an attacking sense.
Andy Halliday also filled in from time to time but isn’t a natural defender.
Despite his age, a swoop for Baines may have excited a few at Ibrox, but it looks as though this one is a non-starter.
