A Football Insider report has asserted how many more ‘senior’ signings Rangers want to make before the current transfer window closes.

The Gers have already strengthened this summer, bringing in versatile attacker Fashion Sakala and midfielder John Lundstram.

Nnamdi Ofoborh is also a new addition, although it’s unclear how significant a role the former Bournemouth midfielder is expected to play during the upcoming season.

The key with all of those swoops is that Rangers have avoided paying transfer fees of any significance, so the club’s finances haven’t been significantly dented.

Football Insider claims that the Gers board are ‘are preparing to secure two more senior signings’ but that these possible transfers are dependent on current players leaving and the club successfully progressing through the Champions League qualifiers.

It’s asserted that Alfredo Morelos is the asset most likely to leave the club and therefore, potential direct replacements for the Colombia international are being looked at, while a pacy and effective wide player is also being sought.

This is pretty exciting stuff for Rangers fans, who will be pleased that Ross Wilson and Steven Gerrard are looking to add even more goals to the group.

The departure of a player as well-liked as Alfredo Morelos would be emotional, but there’s an acceptance amongst the majority of the fan base that one or two senior stars will have to be moved on at some stage in order to balance the books.

The key thing is that they are replaced with quality and with a host of players linked to the club right now, it’ll be interesting to see who actually arrives before the end of the window.

Meanwhile, an exciting homegrown talent has penned a new deal at Ibrox before heading out on loan.
