Rangers face missing out on Malik Tillman with a Premier League move now considered likely for the Bayern Munich talent.
Gers fans have been waiting for updates on Tillman’s future after a promising loan spell at Ibrox this past season.
Rangers have held a purchase option worth around €6million (£5.1million) on Tillman but news about it being activated has been thin on the ground.
Sadly, the latest updates from Germany aren’t exactly positive from a Rangers perspective.
Sport1 now report that Bayern have used an ‘unusual clause’ in Tillman’s deal to completely cancel Rangers’ purchase option.
That means Bayern can now shop Tillman elsewhere as they feel the permanent option in the Rangers loan was a ‘bargain price’.
The report claims that Tillman rejoining Rangers isn’t completely out of the question but there is now interest from elsewhere.
Bundesliga clubs have allegedly expressed an interest in signing Tillman, but ’several’ Premier League teams are now keen too.
It’s added that Tillman’s most likely destination is now England, with Rangers’ hopes ultimately diminishing fast.
Where could Malik Tillman end up?
Rumours of a move to England have been gathering pace of late.
The Daily Mail reported just last week that Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford had both shown an interest in Tillman.
Those clubs would seemingly be the favourites to sign Tillman this summer and can offer exciting moves to the Premier League.
Both Brighton and Brentford have proven to be great platforms for young players and have given pathways for bigger moves elsewhere.

That could appeal to Tillman, possibly more so than staying at Rangers.
The American hit 12 goals and five assists in 43 games on loan at Rangers, showing promise as an attacking midfielder and occasional wide man.
Not everybody was convinced by Tillman and want to see more from him – especially at £5million-plus.
Staying at Rangers is now looking very unlikely and Michael Beale will seemingly have to move on to other targets.
