STV reports that Rangers winger Jamie Murphy is set to join EFL League One club Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season.
It’s suggested that Steven Gerrard is keen for the Scotland international to get more game time.

He has made just two appearances for the Gers this season, coming on as a substitute during victories over Hamilton and Ross County, and therefore, his allegedly imminent departure is no surprise.
Perhaps this way, the 30-year-old, who is contracted to the club until the summer of 2021 [Transfermarkt], can prove he is still capable of playing week in, week out, following his serious knee injury.
Murphy spent over a year on the sidelines after sustaining ligament damage away at Kilmarnock in August 2018.
Since then, the club have recruited a plethora of out-and-out wingers, and he currently finds himself down the pecking order behind Ryan Kent, Sheyi Ojo, Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones.

In joining Burton, he will link up with his former Sheffield United manager, Nigel Clough, who is trying to mount a promotion charge.
The Brewers are currently sixth in the League One table but are just five points behind leaders Rotherham United.
With Andy King having returned to Leicester City, Eros Grezda joining Osijek, Greg Docherty reportedly set for Sunderland [Scottish Sun] and now Murphy said to be on his way, the Gers’ winter squad clear out is very much underway.
