The Scottish Sun reports that Glenn Middleton’s loan move away from Ibrox is ‘hanging in the balance’.
Earlier this month, the Daily Record claimed a deal had been agreed for the 19-year-old to join Doncaster Rovers for the 2019/20 League One campaign.

This was then all but confirmed by then Donny manager Grant McCann. He claimed he was ‘100% sure’ he would secure the loan signing of a talent who had played in the Europa League last season [Doncaster Free Press].
However, things took a dramatic turn when then managerless Hull City approached McCann about their vacancy [

We speculated then that if the former Northern Ireland international left for the Championship, it could leave Middleton in limbo.
This report suggests that exact situation has arisen.
McCann opted to leave for the Tigers, signing a 12-month rolling contract on Saturday.

Consequently, the loan move to Doncaster has been ‘thrown into doubt’. That’s because McCann himself was said to be driving the deal.
Middleton was his target and now that he’s managing elsewhere, Rovers could pull out.
It’ll be interesting to see where this one goes. Given the considerable expected competition for places in wide areas at Ibrox next season, it would likely be beneficial if the teenager moved elsewhere for game time.

However, it’s important that he finds the right club at the right standard. Hopefully, if Doncaster pull out, a similar club will look to bring him in.
There’s even the chance that given McCann’s switch, Hull City could move. A stint in the Championship would certainly test the youngster’s credentials.
