Rangers boss Michael Beale has told impatient Ibrox fans that announcements over transfers are expected imminently following the victory over Kilmarnock.
The incoming Ibrox manager made it an impressive seven wins from eight games as Rangers boss with a 3-2 victory over 10-man Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Alfredo Morelos got a double and assisted Ryan Kent in the victory but it’s clear that a patchwork Rangers side needs fresh blood and Michael Beale is expecting movement on transfers in the coming days.
The Ibrox boss has claimed that as many as four new players could join the club this January but with under two weeks to go until the window shuts, Rangers are yet to make any first-team moves.
But Michael Beale insists that whilst there is no precise news, deals are close and transfers are expected any moment now.
“We are close to one or two bits,” said Beale [BBC Sportsound].
“I don’t want to put a timeline and disappoint anyone. We are close to one or two being announced in the coming days and I’m really pleased with the work everyone has done behind the scenes on that.
“You can see from my face I can’t really tell you much more. In the meantime, the boys that are here are doing well and in the coming days we will have news for everyone.”
Michael Beale insists Rangers transfers close
This will be music to the ears of the Rangers support who are eager for reinforcements with the club’s squad still decimated by injury from earlier in the campaign.
Rangers’ recruitment has come under the microscope with the club currently without five summer signings (John Souttar, Ridvan Yilmaz, Tom Lawrence, Rabbi Matondo, Antonio Colak) and several first-team stars (Ianis Hagi, Filip Helander, Kemar Roofe) due to injury problems.
It’s clear that work is going on behind the scenes and let’s hope Rangers and Michael Beale manage to work their magic with transfers and help boost an injury-ravaged squad in need of fresh blood.
