On Sunday evening, Jurgen Klopp all but ruled out Ryan Kent returning to Rangers on loan [BBC Sport].
That constitutes a blow, but overall, the Gers have been extremely productive in the window.

Steven Gerrard has managed to bring in plenty of bodies without breaking the bank, partly by scooping up the best of the rest from the SPL.
Perhaps the standout tactic with the club’s business, though, has been its urgency. For example, the signings of Jordan Jones, Steven Davis and Jake Hastie were all completed before the 2018/19 season even finished.
Deals for Sheyi Ojo and Greg Stewart followed shortly thereafter, the Gers then beat off competition to sign George Edmundson and Joe Aribo, before completing their defensive reinforcements with Filip Helander by mid-July.

Aribo and Ojo have probably been the pick of the bunch so far.

Rangers transfer tactic clear for all to see

The crucial thing is, though, that before the SPL season kicks off, all these new arrivals have been able to integrate into the group.
Each individual has minutes in the legs and has turned out in front of the fans at Ibrox. For some, that’s been in front of a packed house for Europa League qualifiers. For the likes of Filip Helander, it’s been in front of 20,000-odd for friendlies.

Either way, though, those first steps are out of the way and the players now know what to expect. Other than a frustrating outing against Blackburn, too, results have been near flawless.
Marseille may have been undercooked, but Derby are a week away from Championship action and were completely outplayed on Sunday.
Gerrard has both freshened and strengthened his squad this summer. Crucially, though, it has been done efficiently, and we’re seeing the benefits on the pitch in terms of momentum heading into the league season.
