Rangers transfer links “obviously not true” as player reportedly eyes exit

Links between Rangers goalkeeper Robby McCrorie and Premier League giants Man United have been rubbished amid claims the Scotland youth international will leave the club.

Surprise reports had claimed that the Red Devils were eyeing a move for the 24-year-old Ibrox talent ahead of the new season as new manager Erik ten Hag puts his stamp on the squad.

However, these claims have been rubbished by numerous sources who suggest that Man United are not interested in Robby McCrorie as things stand.

The 4th Official have claimed that the transfer report is “obviously not true” and urged fans to take any reports surrounding Rangers with a pinch of salt.

Ibrox insiders Heart & Hand have also rubbished the reports on their Daily Update for the 20th of June.

“You may have seen some reports linking Robby McCrorie with Man United,” said podcast host David Edgar.

“I’m told that at the moment there is nothing in that. Robby McCrorie is out of contract next summer and if he’s going to be number three he may decide that he wants to move.

“He’s getting to the age that he needs to be playing or at least be competing for playing and he’s getting to the stage where he needs to be playing.

“It seems a very unusual link to be honest and from what I’m told doesn’t actually exist.”

Robby McCrorie linked with Rangers exit as Man United talk quashed

Interestingly, these comments come amid fresh reports that Robby McCrorie will look to leave Rangers this summer after a new deal was handed to Allan McGregor.

The young Scotland goalie is highly-rated but is currently playing third fiddle to McGregor and Scotland international Jon McLaughlin and is unlikely to get a look-in ahead of these two players.

Herald and Times Sport are claiming that Robby McCrorie will look to leave the club after having his route to first-team football “blocked” this campaign.

They are claiming that McCrorie will not put pen to paper on an extension and that despite being given assurances surrounding his involvement this season by Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Robby won’t be risking another season on the bench.

The report reiterates the claims that Man United are interested in Robby McCrorie, but also claims that several English clubs are monitoring the young keeper’s situation.

Meanwhile, Rangers have been linked with a move for a familiar face who downed the club last season.
