Rangers have had a busy summer already but the latest transfer reports suggest that there could yet be more arrivals at Ibrox.

Players will be moved out to cut the wage bill but there will be a couple of positions that will need to be filled in if there are departures.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, transfer journalist Dean Jones reckons that Rangers could be targeting, at least, a defender and forward to add to Michael Beale’s squad.

“I think it’s seven they’ve got through the door already, at least a couple more to follow.

“The Cifuentes one is being held up a bit, but even with that, I don’t think Rangers are finished yet.

“I’m expecting another forward player and another defender as well to be signed.”

Rangers transfer busy shows no sign of slowing down

With Antonio Colak and Fashion Sakala looking likely to be sold for a decent profit, speculation surrounding another bid for Danilo is only going to intensify.

In defence, Leon King’s injury is a blow but Leon Balogun will provide cover to Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Ben Davies.

The latter has been tipped to be drawing interest from England so Jones could be right.

Even before King’s injury, Rangers have been trying hard to bring in more competition since the exit of Filip Helander with Jonathan Panzo looking he most likely.

Trimming the squad is going to be Michael Beale’s hardest job this summer as he won’t be able to pick and choose what players are the subject of bids.

Hopefully Jones is right though and that the Gers gaffer gets the faces in he needs to bring the Scottish Premiership title back to Ibrox.
