Michael Beale has teased that a new signing could be imminent for Rangers, however, fans will have to wait if it is to be Luis Palma.

The Aris winger has ended the season with 13 goals and eight assists and has seen interest from across Europe.

According to Greek journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos, who broke Rangers interest in Antonio Colak, Luis Palma is still a deal being worked on.

Writing on his Twitter feed, Chorianopoulos reported:

“Rangers are still in the race for Luis Palma.

“No official bid yet but talks with Aris are in progress.

“Kind reminder: Greek club want €5m for Palma.”

As things stand, Rangers have been linked with a lot of pre-contract or free transfer signings with Luis Palma and Jose Cifuentes the two main targets who would command a fee.

Board backing should see Rangers sign Luis Palma

Michael Beale has said already that he is happy with his budget and, if he can move players out too, he will have even more funds available.

If the Gers gaffer is clever, and has a bit of luck, Rangers might even turn a profit this summer.

With Scott Wright linked with Preston and Ryan Kent set to walk out for nothing, signing a new winger will be a key summer acquisition.

More importantly, they have to be able to contribute better numbers than the pair named.

Over 70 appearances between them and just three goals. Even Borna Barisic can match that.

It has been an encouraging start to the summer in terms of rumours and reports with trusted journalists providing the updates.

If Giannis Chorianopoulos claims that talks are progressing then there is a good chance that Luis Palma could be a Rangers player this summer, if the board are true to their word that is and back Michael Beale.
