Rangers have been dealt an apparent transfer blow after the agent of Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson shared his take on his client’s rejected transfer request.
Ferguson’s father Derek and uncle Barry both played for the Gers and the club have been routinely linked with the midfielder.

Links have intensified recently, though, with the Scottish Sun reporting earlier this week that after Watford saw a £2m bid rejected, Rangers were monitoring his situation closely.
Therefore, the Ibrox recruitment team were likely encouraged when Aberdeen confirmed on Wednesday that the 21-year-old had formally expressed his desire to leave Pittodrie.
However, based on his agent Bill McMurdo’s latest comments, it isn’t Ibrox that Ferguson is pushing for a move to.
“They (Aberdeen) told us when he signed the contract initially that if a Premier League club came in, they would not stand in his way,” he said [Scottish Sun]. “Lewis was absolutely up front with them and told them his ambition was to play in the English Premier League.”
“They said: ‘Trust us, we won’t stand in his way’. They said they would consider it a good thing if he went to play in the English Premier League.
“In the last couple of weeks, a [Premier League] club asked if he was available and when they intimated he could be, they asked: ‘How much do you want for him’. Aberdeen have since refused to give them a price and I can’t understand that.
“That’s a mockery and I am upset because this is an opportunity for Lewis to realise his ambition. And I think the club are going back on their word and the gentleman’s agreement we had. I think they are holding out for a massive amount for him and I don’t think it’s going to happen.”

It seems that a move across the border is very much the aim for Ferguson this summer, which is a blow for the Gers.
Steven Gerrard needs to strengthen in midfield as Bongani Zungu has returned to Amiens, while there’s uncertainty regarding when Ryan Jack will be fit again following surgery.
There’s a chance that the manager could promote from within, though, and some supporters are pushing for one particular starlet to fill the void left by Zungu.
