As quoted by the Daily Record, Steven Gerrard has suggested that the club could still offload Eros Grezda, despite the European transfer window closing earlier this month.
The Albanian international hasn’t made a first-team appearance since turning out as a substitute away at Motherwell back in April. However, he is currently facing an internal disciplinary probe following an allegation of spitting whilst in Cup action for the Colts against Ballymena United on Wednesday.

Gerrard placed on record his dissatisfaction with the player whose Rangers stint has been woeful.
However, it seems the club are optimistic he won’t be around for much longer.
Rangers still trying to sell controversial winger
“Grezda has been told face-to-face what his situation is,” said Gerrard, as quoted by the Daily Record. “He’s been advised to find a different challenge for himself and his representation is aware of that.”
“We’re trying to be respectful and give him game time to keep his fitness levels up as there are still a few markets and windows open around the world that might suit him.
“However, if you behave in that manner you won’t represent this club at any level. No one behaves like that and wears the Rangers shirt so there will be a disciplinary situation.”

Verdict
It’s unsurprising to see Gerrard write off Grezda’s chances of featuring again for the club.
What is more interesting here, is the apparent possibility of offloading the winger before January. It had been assumed by many that after the 2nd September deadline passed, the Gers would be paying out his wages for at least a few more months.
Yet, it seems there’s still a chance of the 24-year-old moving overseas. It’s unclear exactly what leagues Gerrard is referring to as possible destinations, but the Australian A-League’s window, for example, runs until mid-October.
At this point, there’s no doubt it that it would suit all parties if Grezda could be moved on.
Ideally, Rangers would recoup some of the £2m they paid for the ex-Osijek man, but given his recent alleged antics, perhaps just getting him away from the club will be the priority.
