Exciting teenage winger Josh McPake, who was linked with both Liverpool and Roma back in 2019, has agreed a contract extension at Rangers, according to the Press Association.
McPake made his first-team debut early in the 2019/20 season against St Joseph’s and has since spent time on loan at Dundee, Morton and Harrogate Town.

On Monday evening, it was reported that he was set for a fourth spell away from Ibrox next season, at Morecambe [Scottish Sun].
Joining the Shrimps would represent progress for the Scotland youth international, as they will be competing in League One, a tier above where he was playing with Harrogate.
His contract situation would be a cause for concern, though, given that his current deal expires next summer.
However, the Press Association has since reported via the Independent that he’s agreed an extension, just as he did back in 2019 amid reported interest from major clubs in England and Italy including Liverpool and Roma [Daily Record].
The PA report asserts that McPake will indeed link up with former Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson at Morecambe next season, but only after penning a two-year extension.

McPake hasn’t quite kicked on as he might have done since his encouraging first-team debut, but he started to find his feet in senior football during his time at Harrogate and it’s good work from Rangers to tie him down.
Goalscoring wingers can be hard to come by and at 19, McPake has time on his side in terms of realising his potential.
A two-year extension gives Rangers the chance to work out if there will eventually be a place for him in the first team or if it makes more sense to sell him for a substantial fee.
McPake may be heading elsewhere but here are five exciting starlets who could feature for the Gers in pre-season.
