Rangers defender Harley Ewen has joined Lowland League side Cumbernauld Colts on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 17-year-old is highly rated, and he slots right into the Colt’s side in their clash against Broomhill FC.
Ewen made the step up from the academy to join the Ibrox side on a full-time basis in June 2020 alongside eight other talents and he is progressing in the right direction.

Ewen plays for the Gers U18 side and has been capped for the Scotland U16 side in the past. The club has some serious talent in the academy and B team at the minute with there being a clear pathway to the first team if players impress.
Both Leon King and Alex Lowry have featured for the club during the previous 12 months and Giovanni van Bronckhorst stated in his first press conference that he wasn’t shy in giving youngsters a chance, explaining that if they are good enough, age isn’t a factor.
Just take a look at Lowry’s debut against Stirling Albion in the Scottish Cup. The player showed absolutely no fear and even scored on his first appearance.
These are the type of players who could save the club millions in the future if they continue developing well.
Hopefully, Ewen can take a leaf out of their book and keep working hard, there could be interesting opportunities in the future if he does.
