Conflicting transfer reports have predictably begun to gather around in-demand Rangers star Alfredo Morelos and FC Porto after the Gers crashed out of the Champions League.
The Gers suffered an immense £30m+ disappointment by failing to qualify for the Group Stages and there’s been much talk about player sales amid a budgeted £14.4m loss.
Porto have been linked with a move to Morelos all summer long but there has been consistently conflicting reports regarding the Colombian’s future.
Morelos, 25, is undoubtedly one of if not the Gers most valuable assets and just as fans started licking their wounds over the Champions League exit, differing reports have emerged.
Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur – who runs a Twitter account in the style of the dubious Fabrizio Romano – claims Sergio Conceicao’s side are readying a bid of €16m (£13.5m) for the striker.

Portuguese outlet A Bola have also claimed that Porto retain an interest in Alfie but that Porto are unwilling to deal at the minimum €15m (£12.7m) Rangers expect.
That report claims that Porto will be hoping to “seduce” Morelos with Champions League football and a higher salary that what he’ll receive in Scotland.
Given the outcome of this kind of reportage in the past, we’re taking these claims with a pinch of salt and we recommend you do too.
“Sources” close to Morelos also reportedly told the Daily Record that the player’s camp “don’t believe the Portuguese giants will make a move”.
It doesn’t make the thought of losing Alfie any easier and the striker gave the Rangers a bit of cause for concern with his latest tweet after the Champions League exit.
