Rangers have announced the signing of highly-rated Partick Thistle youth starlet Cameron Cooper just in time to soften the blow of Rory Wilson’s move to Aston Villa.
Cooper, 16, joins the Gers for an undisclosed fee and the Ibrox side are said to have pipped a host of watching Premier League sides including West Ham [Scottish Sun] to the player’s signing.

Taking to their official website, Rangers announced a series of graduates from the club’s schoolboy programme with no fewer than seven players making the grade.
On top of that, Rangers have also managed to secure the signings of Cameron Cooper (Partick Thistle), Paul Nsio (Lambeth Tigers), Souleyman Manley (Pulse Academy), Kieron Willox (Inverness) and Mason Munn (Glentoran).

The signings of Kieron Willox and Mason Munn gathered some interest on social media as both Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Glentoran recognise the talents of their former players.
Inverness took the time to wish highly-rated young winger Kieron Willox all the best at Rangers and explained the lure of Ibrox was too strong for the kid.
The transfer of Mason Munn was celebrated by the player’s agent whilst Glentoran also took the time to congratulate the Northern Irish kid on his “big move”.
But it’s the signing of Cameron Cooper that will turn the most heads as Rangers immediately soften the blow of losing Rory Wilson to Aston Villa in this window.
The Gers have reportedly thrashed out a £350k compensation package for the youngster after the Villains swooped in ahead of several Premier League sides to Wilson’s signature.
The prolific young forward, who scored over 40 goals at youth level last season, was also snapped preparing for an Aston Villa medical ahead of the deal being announced.
Rangers will now look to focus on the youngsters who want to be at Ibrox and they could soon be joined by a Motherwell ace reportedly subject to an Ibrox bid.
