After losing Ryan Kent and selling the, now prolific, Fashion Sakala, the Gers gaffer only really has Rabbi Matondo, Abdallah Sima and Scott Wright as natural wide players with pace.
A grand total of six goals between them last season – all scored by Sima.

Michael Beale isn’t done shopping for Rangers
Writing on X in reflection to the 2-1 win over Morton, Stevie Clfford of the Four Lads blog was quick to point out that there is progress and that Michael Beale isn’t finished shopping for Rangers just yet:
“The forward line hasn’t clicked yet, Lammers, Dessers & Sima haven’t been consistent enough & only in flashes (the revision in players who offered us literally nothing last year, especially last six months, need to be left aside).
“Yesterday we had 6 clear opportunities to score.
“Wednesday in second half we had 4, Livi we scored 4.
“Slowly it is coming but it isn’t an instant progress.
“The play still clumpy, patchy at times & disjointed in others, all in the same ninety.
“We are still in the market for a CB and a winger so let’s see if we get them, those will help us.”
Michael Beale has spoken, repeatedly, about Rangers being more clinical.
This isn’t just down to the strikers though.
The manager has to have a system and style of play that creates better chances for the forwards.
Again, against a lower league team, we had to rely on an effective press and a penalty kick.
Yes, as Cliffford says, chances were created but the quality has to be much better.
Hopefullly, whoever the much talked about winger he is targeting is the one who will bring what is so obviously missing so far.
