Rangers are on the cusp of finalising their third transfer of the summer following the arrivals of Lawrence Shankland and Ross McCrorie.
Derek McInnes is already in the building and has begun work on finalising his transfer targets, which the hierarchy are now looking to bring to Ibrox.
Rangers missed out on the league last season after losing four of their last five games following the split, and McInnes knows that he needs to deliver a title.
For that, he needs to be helped by the recruitment team.
What is Ross McCrorie’s best position, according to you?
Rangers have brought him back to Ibrox!
Ben Godfrey on the verge of joining Rangers
Ben Godfrey is set to finalise his loan move and become McInnes’ second signing at Rangers, according to the Daily Record.
He has been on the Gers’ radar for a while, and they have been given the green signal by the manager to bring him to Ibrox.
After spending a few good seasons at Everton, he secured a £11m move to Serie A club Atalanta.
However, he has struggled to make an impression there, spending time out on loan at Ipswich Town, Sheffield United and Brondby.
Now, he is expected to join Rangers and become their third summer arrival.

How Derek McInnes will use Godfrey at Ibrox
Godfrey was a Swiss Army knife back in his Everton days as he managed to play anywhere in the backline.
While he was primarily a centre-back, he was deployed as a right-back and left-back under Carlo Ancelotti, and looked at home in those positions.
At Rangers, McInnes is likely to put him in the heart of his defence, alongside Emmanuel Fernandez.
Godfrey has shown he’s good with the ball at his feet, so he can help carry the ball into midfield, and his recovery speed means that a high line can also be deployed, as he has the ability to track back and cover the space.
Which area should Rangers prioritise on strengthening this summer? 🤔
Andrew Cavenagh has made some bold promises!
He can also deputise as a left-back, as there is only Tuur Rommens in that position, so this is a signing that makes a lot of sense for the Gers.
Rio Ferdinand, who watched a lot of him at Everton, was impressed with his pace, especially as he’s a centre-back playing as a full-back.
He said: “You’ve got two centre-backs playing at full-backs. Ben Godfrey has been absolutely outstanding. The pace he has shown in the last couple of games was against Timo Werner, Chelsea, the last game against Arsenal.
“You look at the pace of the kid. Pepe, £72m worth, I am sure Mr Godfrey would be looking at his pocket and thinking, ‘Where is he? Someone causing me a bit of friction in my pocket.”
