Rangers have sent a message to Ianis Hagi on the platform formerly known as Twitter despite the fact the playmaker is on loan at Alaves.
Wishing the now 25-year-old a Happy Birthday on the controversial platform, the entire thing has raised a few eyebrows in the Rangers support.
As the injuries mounted under the stewardship of Michael Beale, the decision to let Ianis Hagi move on loan looks more strange than sending him a message on Twitter when he’s no longer at the club.
There was a moment in the season where Rangers could’ve used the creative tendencies of the Romanian international and the entire thing doesn’t really benefit anyone in Glasgow.
After a public appeal for more minutes as Ianis Hagi looks to recover from a devastating cruciate ligament injury, Michael Beale sent the £3m ex-KRC Genk star on loan to Alaves.
Since then Ianis Hagi has set about getting minutes in La Liga and so far, despite the Spanish side’s toils, it’s been a largely fruitful spell for a talented player starved of time on the park.

Rangers with Ianis Hagi a Happy Birthday on Twitter
As the minutes have racked up, so has Ianis Hagi’s confidence and Rangers fans are beginning to wonder why the club let the playmaker leave on loan in the summer.
A goal for the Romanian national team during the last international break did little to satiate the support on the subject either.
The decision to let Ianis Hagi leave did backfire on Beale and now plenty are asking the question of whether or not Philippe Clement might fancy bringing the Romanian prodigy back to Glasgow in January.
It’s worth noting that although Philippe Clement managed Genk, the Belgian coach had moved to Club Brugge a few months before Ianis Hagi joined the club.
As things stand, there is no option-to-buy on the Alaves side with regards the Rangers playmaker and after signing a new contract last season the Ibrox side do hold some pretty strong cards.

Ianis Hagi would however need assurances that he’ll get minutes in Glasgow but perhaps the sacking of Michael Beale has opened a window of opportunity.
As Rangers wish Ianis Hagi a happy birthday on Twitter, it’s certainly added some fuel to the conversation and despite saying his goodbyes only a few months ago perhaps his time at Ibrox is anything but over.
We’d hasten a bet that the talented playmaker also has unfinished business in Govan.
