Rangers will not be pursuing a move for Sadio Mane-esque Colombian winger Santiago Moreno despite an extensive scouting mission, according to journalist Jordan Campbell.
The Athletic writer covers the Gers extensively and was speaking amid Ibrox links to the 21-year-old America de Cali forward player.

Reports coming out of Colombia had previously claimed that Rangers were lining up a bid in the region of £2.1m ($3m) for the player, who was compared to Liverpool’s Sadio Mane by TEAMtalk.
These claims come after Rangers were heavily linked to the player by a number of sources back in May ahead of the summer transfer window.
Both Rangers and Leeds United were linked to the speed merchant Moreno by Football Insider before links to Ibrox appeared in the Telegraph.
But now Campbell has played down the suggestion Rangers could move despite the club having scouting operations in Colombia for the last 18 months.
“One player who has been linked is America de Cali winger Santiago Moreno, but I understand there aren’t legs in this one for now,” explains Campbell in his Rangers Mailbag for the Athletic.
“The Colombian is a good prospect at age 21 and would cost less than £2m thanks to a buyout clause but, although the Colombian market is on Rangers have been exploring the last 18 months, this is not one that is on the cards.”

Whilst Moreno won’t be joining Rangers, the Gers did announce one major signing this week with the player a major statement of intent from the Ibrox club.
