Rangers appear to have received a transfer boost regarding Fashion Sakala, with the KV Oostende striker reportedly preferring a switch to Ibrox despite interest from Lille [Voetbal].
The Gers have been linked with Sakala for months, with the Sun reporting back in February that they would see off competition from multiple English clubs to seal a free transfer.

The speculation has died down somewhat since then, but it seems a summer swoop is still very much on the cards.
That’s because Voetbal have asserted that the Zambia international wants to leave KVO and has his sights set on Ibrox despite interest from Lille and Royal Antwerp.
Sakala has scored 13 goals from 29 appearances in all competitions this season, while he also has three assists to his name.
He went through an impressive purple patch early in 2021, netting eight times in eight matches. However, due to a combination of injury and a dip in form, he hasn’t found the net for over two months.

At 5ft 10″, Sakala isn’t the tallest of strikers, but he possesses superb pace and his career stats point to strong finishing ability.
A new goalscorer may well be a priority for Rangers in the summer, with Alfredo Morelos a potential candidate to be sold and Jermain Defoe’s contract set to expire.
In other news, an update has been provided on an Ibrox-bound player who hasn’t featured for his current club for over a month.
