Rangers are showing an interest in signing Aston Villa talent Tim Ireogbunam as Michael Beale chases a reunion.
The Gers are being linked with a host of new signings ahead of the summer.
Goalkeeper Jack Butland and playmaker Kieran Dowell are thought to be high on Beale’s wish list.
More rumours will be coming and another has emerged today with Villa youngster Iroegbunam.
That is according to a new report from Football Insider, who claim that Rangers are exploring a loan deal for the teenager.
Beale is allegedly a ‘huge admirer’ of Iroegbunam having worked together at two different clubs.
Beale saw Iroegbunam emerge at Aston Villa last season and then took him on loan to Queens Park Rangers.
Rangers are asking about a possible deal and are even open to a permanent move if Villa are willing to sell.
That seems unlikely as Iroegbunam is one of the top young talents in the Villa Park ranks.
It’s worth asking the question though and Iroegbunam would fit the mould of Beale talking about signing players he has previously coached.

Steven Gerrard is a big fan of Tim Iroegbunam
Iroegbunam spent time in the Sutton United ranks before heading to West Bromwich Albion.
Villa pounced to sign him in 2021 and he was given three Premier League appearances last season.
Now 19, Iroegbunam has been a versatile midfielder, playing centrally, deep, further forward and on either flank.
Beale may see Iroegbunam as a player he can move around in the Rangers side and he would certainly have the backing of Steven Gerrard.
The former Gers boss was impressed with Iroegbunam last season and called him ‘really exciting’.
First-team action at Villa seems unlikely and Rangers may well have a real chance of luring Iroegbunam to Glasgow.
