The Edinburgh Evening News reports that Rangers turned away an approach from Hibernian for Robby McCrorie before sending him out on loan to Livingston.
It’s suggested that following initial interest from Hearts, Hibs registered their desire to buy the player, but the Gers wouldn’t entertain any bids.

Rangers were keen for him to play Premiership football, though, so he was recalled from his season-long loan spell in the Championship and sent on to Livingston until the end of the season.
He’s expected to be handed the no.1 shirt for the West Lothian outfit and is likely to make his debut against St Johnstone this evening.
Verdict
It’s good to see Rangers refuse to entertain bids for McCrorie, who is an exciting homegrown talent.
Plenty of Academy players such as Ryan Hardie, Andy Dallas, Serge Atakayi and Zak Rudden have been sold in the last year, but it’s clear that there are genuine hopes for this young goalkeeper to break into the first team.
With Allan McGregor at the ripe old age of 37 and Andy Firth set to be the only other contracted Gers keeper come to the end of the season, there appears to be a genuine pathway to the first team for McCrorie and now he has a big chance to impress.
Should he perform well over the next few months at Livi, he could prove himself worthy of beginning next season as the no.2 at Ibrox.
