Rangers manager Philippe Clement has admitted he’s already training his transfer sights on several targets at Ibrox.
The Belgian boss has also claimed that he’s ready to rejuvenate the way the club handles first-team contracts, with too many players into the final year of their deal.
Philippe Clement has been a no-nonsense appointment at Rangers to date and is speaking ahead of a hotly-anticipated first transfer window in charge in January.
Rangers recruitment already under way
Rangers fans are very excited to see who Philippe Clement can lure to Ibrox with the manager well into his “observation” stage in Glasgow.
Claiming that he’s already got a firm idea of the positions he needs reinforcements, the Rangers boss also claims recruitment is well under way even ahead of the next summer.
The Rangers manager has also urged the club to find greater balance in the squad with the Ibrox side overloaded in some areas and under stocked in others.
“In big parts, yes (I know what I want in January),” said Clement. “Not in the finest details because these next 12 games will show me a lot.
“It’s dangerous after four weeks to make major conclusions. But in general, I know I have to get more balance in this squad. You see, in some positions I have a lot of players – maybe too much.
“And in other positions, I don’t have enough for a long series of games. Those are things I need to get the balance.
“It’s also important for the future of the club that we don’t get into a situation where you have so many players who are playing and out of contract. That’s not a normal situation.
“We’re busy talking in the club about January and about next season. This is the period to do that. We’re busy recruiting for next season.”
Philippe Clement trains transfer sights
Rangers manager Philippe Clement appears busy training his transfer sights ahead of his first big transfer window in charge at Ibrox.
It’s clear this Ibrox squad needs a lot of work with several of the club’s expensive summer signings consistently letting the team down.
Given the £3.5m spent on Sam Lammers and £4.5m splurged on Cyriel Dessers, it’s going to take some amount of jiggery pokery to find a proper balance this season.

But with Rangers somewhat rejuvenated under Philippe Clement the forthcoming transfer window could be the title catalyst for the second half of the season.
One thing is for sure; Rangers need to get the month of January on point.
So many in this Rangers team have floundered after the winter break and if Philippe Clement is the man to bring regular success to Glasgow, he’ll need to get his early transfer business right.
