One area that Rangers on paper don’t seem to need to strengthen is left-back and yet Philippe Clement continue to be linked with a replacement Josh Doig being the latest.
Previously mentioned but with no concrete interest ever reported, the Hellas Verona defender is said to be moving on the next transfer window.
Rangers squad has two international left-backs but it is where the manager is said to be looking to strengthen with Josh Doig once again being rumoured via Italian media.

Rangers name dropped into Josh Doig conversation
According to Calcio Mercato, Torino are interested in signing the Scotland youth cap and have already had initial contacts with Leeds Utd, Monza and Rangers also being mentioned on social media.
Ridvan Yilmaz was one of our best performers against Celtic but has seen a constant speculation surrounding his future.
At first it was because he was homesick, then it was because he had been unable to dislodge Borna Barisic, now it looks as though Philippe Clement just doesn’t fancy him.
Against better opposition who don’t play direct, long-ball football, Ridvan has shown that he can be a good player, however, he will always be targeted because of his height.
Josh Doig is the sort of player who should have been signed before he left Scottish football but at the time, Rangers had Calvin Bassey and Barisic.
The timing, as it was with Aaron Hickey, just wasn’t right.
The fee, said to be over £5.2m, is similar to the total price that we could pay for Ridvan.
An original £3.5m price tag could rise to nearly £6m if the Thrkeybinternational hits his targets.
The only way that Rangers would pay this sort of money for Josh Doig would be if a similar agreement could be reached.
Ridvan would also have to be sold too because there is no need to have two players with such value competing for the same place.
Rangers need more home grown players and Doig has the physicality needed for the domestic game as well as the European experience from his time in Italy.
It’s not a priority but, if the opportunity is there, and we can make way for him, the 21-year old left-back would be a welcome addition.
