Rangers missed out on signing Egyptian international winger Ibrahim Adel from Pyramids FC during the summer transfer window.
Gers fans have been left a little bemused by Michael Beale’s recruitment over the summer.
Rangers saw Ryan Kent move on and then sold Fashion Sakala, meaning Beale had lost two wingers.
Rangers didn’t really replace them though, instead continuing to go for players who operate more centrally.
That means Rangers seem incredibly narrow this season and Beale is having to try and bring Scott Wright and Rabbi Matondo back into the fold.
Failing to sign a winger seems strange and it’s now being reported that Rangers missed out on an exciting wide man.

Rangers missed out on Ibrahim Adel
TEAMtalk now claim that Rangers made a move to bring Pyramids winger Ibrahim Adel to Ibrox.
It’s stated that Rangers held talks but a deal couldn’t be agreed before the transfer deadline earlier this month.
Maybe this is one that Rangers will revisit in the January window but there is plenty of interest.
Chelsea, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Aston Villa, West Ham United and Burnley are all understood to be interest.
Add in Anderlecht and Club Brugge, as well as Russian clubs who want Adel before their transfer deadline this week, and Rangers could face a real battle if Adel is even still available come January.

Who is Rangers target Adel?
Adel spent time in the youth ranks of El Merreikh in his native Egypt before heading to Pyramids upon their forming in 2018.
The 22-year-old has now turned out 110 times for Pyramids, racking up 26 goals and nine assists to date.
Adel has played on both flanks as well as down the middle for Pyramids, operating as a striker and even attacking midfielder.
Pyramids FC director of football Mahmoud Fathallah told Kingfut last year that he thinks Adel is a ‘huge talent’, backing him for a big future.
Adel has now earned four caps for Egypt and there should be plenty more to come having emerged as one of the top young talents in Egyptian football.
Rangers fans would surely love to see another wide man in January and Adel could be that man – though whether Beale is the man to coach him remains to be seen.
