The Scottish Sun reports that young Gers midfielder Jamie Barjonas has attracted the attention of two fourth-tier English clubs.
Both Macclesfield Town and Mansfield Town are said to be looking for a loan deal for the 20-year-old. The report suggests that he ‘will be allowed to go out on loan’ amid the interest after a switch to Ross County was rejected.

Barjonas spent the first half of last season in EFL League Two with Bury. Yet, things didn’t pan out overly well there. In the league, he was restricted to substitute appearances, and he returned home in January likely little better off for the experience.
The second half of the campaign saw a more successful stint at Raith Rovers in Scottish League One. The midfielder got himself on the scoresheet a few times and almost helped the Rovers to promotion.
Rangers midfielder Jamie Barjonas set for another loan stint
Off the back of those performances, he was included in Rangers’ pre-season camp in Portugal ahead of the likes of Graham Dorrans, and he featured in several friendlies.

However, the arrivals of Joe Aribo and Andy King have ensured he’s since slipped well down the pecking order. Development XI appearances are the only action he has seen over the past month or so.
Therefore, it’s probably best for him to head back out on loan. Given the strength in depth in the Gers midfield right now, there’s simply no route into the first team.
Similarly to the Greg Docherty situation from last season, Barjonas needs to go out and prove he can perform at a decent level of senior football over an extended period. If he does so, he could earn himself a new contract and a place in Gerrard’s long-term plans.
