Ross Wilson looks set to leave Rangers for Nottingham Forest – and he could end up sanctioning Jonathan Panzo’s move to Ibrox.
Gers sporting director Wilson has been under enormous pressure of late.
Rangers fans have scrutinised Wilson’s transfer record and there is a firm belief that he wasted too much money last summer.
Whilst supporters have been calling for Wilson to go, few really expected another club to come in and take him from Ibrox.
The Athletic reported on Tuesday night that Nottingham Forest are moving to lure Wilson back to English football.
It’s stated that Forest have made contact with Rangers and are hoping to give the former Southampton man a ‘senior football role’ at the City Ground.
Forest have sacked sporting director Filippo Giraldi and Wilson is seemingly being lined up as a replacement to head up Forest’s transfer business.

Ross Wilson could sanction Jonathan Panzo to Rangers
What’s interesting is that Wilson may be very quickly involved in a Rangers transfer.
The Daily Record reported in March that Rangers are interested in snapping up Forest defender Jonathan Panzo this summer.
Panzo has been scouted by Rangers and the hope is that a permanent deal can be done this summer, or even a loan move.
Panzo is currently on loan at Coventry City and has been impressing with the Championship club.
Michael Beale is familiar with Panzo from the Chelsea youth setup and a summer deal for the defender seemed plausible.
Wilson’s move to Forest changes the dynamic though.
The would put him in charge of transfers at the City Ground and therefore in charge of Panzo’s future.
If Rangers make the calls to sign Panzo, it would be Wilson picking up the phone at the other end in a quite bizarre turn of events.
Maybe this will help Rangers; Wilson has been backed by the Gers board of late and they may still have a decent relationship moving forward.
Beale will want his signings in quickly this summer and Wilson may well allow Panzo to make the move to Ibrox early in the summer.
If there is any animosity though, Beale’s hopes of bringing Panzo to Rangers may well take a dent as Wilson seemingly heads for Forest.
