According to Read Rangers, Rohl is eyeing established first-team players in the coming weeks, making a move for Ashia unlikely.
The 21-year-old is viewed as more of a project player and is unlikely to break into the Gers starting eleven should he join.
He is also linked with a number of clubs in Europe, including Stuttgart, Hoffenheim and Premier League promotion hopefuls Southampton.
Now, Celtic have also entered the race, as per a recent report by Sports Boom.
They will be tabling a move to bring the midfielder to Parkhead this summer and add to their squad depth.
Ashia has scored six goals in 31 appearances in all competitions this past season, and is understood to be ready to make the move.

Why not signing Ashia is the right decision
For years, the Gers have looked to the lower tiers of England and untapped markets in Europe to sign emerging prospects.
Even last summer, they opted against signing Lawrence Shankland from Hearts on a free transfer, a deal that could have won them the title.
While Ashia is promising, he will only add to the depth in midfield and is unlikely to come on the cheap, given the number of clubs keen on securing his services.

There are other areas of the pitch that need strengthening, which Rohl will be looking to prioritise in the coming weeks.
He will have already sent the recruitment team his list of demands, and it has been made clear that he wants leaders.
Ashia could develop into one, but at 21, he is not expected to be among the loudest voices inside the dressing room.
Signing a new midfielder is not understood to be high up on the priority list, either for Rohl.
