Rangers have been linked with a move for Fenerbahçe winger Ferdi Kadioglu, according to a leading podcast in Turkey.
This is Kadikoy are claiming that Rangers are rivalling Ajax, Club Brugge, Old Firm rivals Celtic and an unnamed Championship side for the signing of the winger.
This could be Nottingham Forest – a club with something of an online rivalry with Rangers as of late – who have been extensively linked in the Turkish media [Takvim].
Dutch-born and capped all the way up to U21 level with the Netherlands, Ferdi Kadioglu confirmed this year that he would be representing Turkey at senior level.
A versatile attacking player who can play on either the wings or attacking midfield, the move could well make sense from a Rangers perspective given the need to bolster this area of the pitch.
Rangers moved to sign Man United wonderkid Amad Diallo – who cost the Red Devils an initial £19m last January [BBC Sport] – on a six-month loan deal until the end of the season.
This was a short-term solution to a long-term problem at right-wing and Ferdi Kadioglu may well be the answer to the club’s issues in the area for a cost-effective price.
Rangers linked to Fenerbahçe winger Ferdi Kadioglu
Coming through the youth ranks at NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands, the involvement of Ferdi Kadioglu in the Dutch youth set-up speaks volumes regarding his ability.
After two years in the first team at the club, where Kadioglu netted 12 goals and laid on 16 assists in 70 games, the winger moved to Istanbul with Fenerbahce.
Since he’s been there, Ferdi Kadioglu has nine goals and 11 assists at a higher level and had played 89 games in Turkey and is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the country.

Interestingly, the Turkish winger is also represented by the same Wasserman agency as Rangers stars Connor Goldson, John Lundstram, Fashion Sakala and James Sands.
Whilst this could mean nothing, it does highlight that Rangers have previous experience dealing with this agency.
Gers supporters will also be hoping the club’s Dutch backroom staff can help sway the winger’s decision.
In other Rangers transfer news, the latest links between Ibrox and a club in Germany could sound an ominous alarm for a Gers academy kid.
