Rangers-linked Fluminense winger Jhon Arias looks set to line up for the Brazilian side against Boca Juniors in the Copa Libertadores Final.

It will be Brazil v Argentina in the Final of South America’s Champions League equivalent with Rio de Janeiro side Fluminense looking to win the trophy for the first time in their history.

In contrast, legendary Buenos Aires club Boca Juniors have won the trophy six times and the two clubs are preparing to battle this Saturday in the Maracanã – coincidentally Fluminense’s home stadium.

It promises to be an enthralling match which is set to kick off at 5pm local time on the 4th of November, or at 8pm in the UK.

Now, Rangers fans might well have a vested interest in tuning into the game after links emerged between the Ibrox club and form Fluminense winger Jhon Arias earlier in the week.

According to TEAMtalk, Rangers are one of several clubs who are looking at the 26-year-old Colombian winger after a stunning season in Brazil.

The winger has nine goals and 13 assists this season but Rangers will face stiff competition from the English Premier League and the Championship should they hold a genuine interest.

The report claims that Rangers are just one of several clubs interested in signing Jhon Arias, with West Ham, Crystal Palace, Burnley and Wolves mentioned in the English top flight and Championship promotion-chasers Leicester City and Leeds United in the second.

What’s more, a claim from Portuguese journalist Luis Pinto Coelho has suggested that Sporting Lisbon were quoted £17m for the winger in the summer.

This would obviously make any Rangers interest in Jhon Arias – who could finally fill that troublesome right-wing void – unlikely with the Ibrox side not quite in a position to pay such a substantial amount for one player.

It also might make the endeavours of any Rangers fans tuning into the Copa Libertadores Final to watch Jhon Arias play for Fluminense v Boca Juniors redundant.

But where is the fun in that?
